Happy Thursday, you lot! We almost made it to the weekend (thank the universe). Anyway, here is the first of my archived playlists from my college radio days. This one actually comes from one of my first radio shows ever as a DJ and basically tells the story of someone transforming into a wolf during the full moon (or you can consider it just loads of songs about the moon, night, and the supernatural). Well, enough rambling, please enjoy.
NB: Falling isn't available on spotify, but I highly recommend you check it out to not only get the whole vibe of the playlist, but also because it's simply a fantastic song.
ps: I also included one of my favorite old performances by my loves, Bastille, for your viewing pleasure.

I am a day late with this playlist, oops. However, that doesn't change the fact that I am going to start doing #tbt playlists because I have way too many from my days as a college radio DJ to stand and they are just sitting on the virtual Spotify shelf, accumulating whatever is the virtual equivalent of dust. Yet, for today, I am sharing with you lot my "Good for the Soul" playlist, which is a compilation of some classic funk, soul, blues, and r&b music. It continually is updated as I slowly make my way through various artists and playlists; right now it is at 107 songs and I can only see it growing. Sorry not sorry. *Kanye shrug*
ps: R.I.P. Aretha, queen of soul. Rest in Power.
Hi, everyone! Long time, no talk (or blog posting for that matter). Anyway, where the hell has July gone? It seems like just yesterday, summer had officially started and we were all filled with summer plans and aspirations. Little did we know then that we would spend the majority of the time working and binge-watching Netflix until our eyes are bleached by the lights of our screens. Maybe we occasionally get out and see concerts, like I did these past 4 days. I finally got to see two defining bands of my teenage year: The XX and The Arctic Monkeys. The tour continues with The Vaccines tomorrow. Maybe, if I ever get a decent photo, I will post some on this blog. Until then, enjoy the next volume of Smoke & Synth. It's some new music to which I have been jamming during the hot summer month of July.
Well, well, well, we have reached the end of the first volume of Smoke & Synth playlists. It's come much later than I had originally anticipated, but I kept adding songs until I reached that sweet 50 mark. Also, if I am being completely honest, I haven't really listened to "new" music in quite a long time, hence why it's been a work in progress for so long. (I have been listening mostly to The Rolling Stone, The Who, Marvin Gaye, and loads of "older" stuff, which is new for me.) Anyway, I hope that you enjoy this playlist because it's pretty reflective of my current listening habits.
Hello, you lot!
Long time no talk (my apologies) Before we get to the music, quick life update: things are strange per usual and navigating the internet age is still a challenge (looking at you online messaging). Anyway, moving past the vagueness, I am headed to a party tomorrow for IRL socialization, so let's see how that goes? Probably going to compile a party playlist and try to force my friends to play it (shhh). Ok, now that we got that out of the way, let's move onto the real reason you all are here: the playlist. Loads of new stuff, including Bastille and Florence & the Machine, as well as a few classics. Hope, as always, you find something you like! PS: new music added to the “dance therapy” playlist PSS: Bastille have a bloodly brilliant new video out for QPM and I couldn't recommend it enough; it's a mixture of "Trainspotting," "Eyes Wide Shut," "Victoria," and the "The Royal Tenenbaums" |
